  • November Meeting (Thursday 13th): Troubleshooting Windows Stuff to work in Linux
    Wednesday, November 12 2008 @ 01:19 PM CST
    Contributed by: ewanchic

MeetingsWe canceled the last meeting due to bad weather, so the next meeting will be Thursday, November 13th from 7pm-9pm at Basin Electric Headquarters.

The first hour will be lecture and demo. The second hour will be open conversation and group troubleshooting.

Come and join us for dinner prior to the meeting to meet other Linux Users. Sign up on our mailing list (if you haven't yet) to learn more.

Well, I'm really excited. I've setup an OpenOffice presentation to move things along and I've got a bunch of stuff lined up to show, successful and non-successful. I'll be talking about wine, oss, usb, games, music, hardware, and most of all, troubleshooting. I'm going to focus on the first hour for presentation. Second hour, we could focus on troubleshooting other peoples hardware.

Now one thing I found out just recently on the Ubuntu forums, they are saying that USB doesn't work with wine. Well, I got it to work many months ago from a post I can't seem to find at the moment. So to learn more, you'll have to attend the meeting :)

The LUG is held at Basin Electric Headquarters

Between 5:00 and 6:30, I'll be at the Ground Round Restaurant in the bar area for Chicken Legs and Lager. Come by and chat with LUG members before the meeting.

The links provided point to google map locations. You can use google maps to find directions from your departure location to our meeting points.

Hope to see you all there. (^_^)
